Free PDF Image Extractor is a tool for extracting images from PDF files. It is very easy to use and has a simple layout. It supports batch conversion, and you can also drag&drop files or whole folders in the program. All the user has to do is to add PDF files to the program and hit the convert button.
This program is a very good solution for when you're only interested in the images from a .pdf file. It is especially useful for large files which include more than 20 images. It doesn't have many conversion settings other than creating a different folder for each one of the extracted images. And, of course, you can choose the output folder.
The extraction process is done very fast. I tried it out with a set of different types of documents and the results were interesting. The files that didn't contain any images had every page converted as a single picture. I guess this could be useful just for converting PDF files to images. The files that had relatively few images worked perfectly. Each image was extracted as a JPG file. I did have some issues when converting a big PDF file with over 50 images. Many of the images came out in a .ppm format. This particular format can only be viewed with dedicated image editing tools so you'll need to convert them manually to JPG files.
Free PDF Image Extractor is a good overall tool and does the task it was meant to do. The only downside is with the ppm. picture format.
